Hi Barbara - Thanks! I volunteer, as part of the Friends of Shelton Libraries, and it's really hard to keep my purchases down when the books are only $1 or so. Fortunately, I can donate them back once I've read them; otherwise, I'd be overrun with books. Like you, I love books and settling in for a good read.

Judy, There is nothing better than reasonably priced, gently used books.

Hi Peter - I couldn't agree more! Ever been to the Westport Library Book Sale? What a bonanza for book lovers that one is! And it usually coincides with the Westport Art Fair, so we've had some extremely enjoyable times with friends when attending those, having lunch (need to take a break from all that exhausting browsing!), and catching up with all our doings.

Judy, our new library held its book sale about three weeks ago.  What a success! They were out of books before they were out of customers.

Thanks for the tip this morning, too!  I will do that!

Hi Ron - That's terrific! Library book sales are so great, aren't they?

I'm glad you found that tip helpful - lots of luck with it.

Hi Valerie - You and me, both! I have to sort and then sort again to stop myself from bringing too many home, as I have overflowing bookshelves here at all times. My favorite ones make the rounds to my sister Sue, my niece Celia, and my friend Viv. Then they come home to live in my bookcases since I periodically re-read those. Others I bring either to the library for their sales or to Goodwill.

ebooks! I guess there's nothing to sell unless you sell the reader itself. Hmmm...  Must be why Herb asks me, every now and then, if I want one - he is not intrigued by the aforementioned overflowing bookshelves. More's the pity...
