Pinch your Nose and Open Wide
Remember when you were a kid and you had to take some awful tasting medicine, or cod liver oil, or milk of magnesia (do they still make this stuff??) and your Mom told you to hold your nose closed and open your mouth.
You didn't know why, but Mom said to to do it. Now we know that there is a very close sensitivity between your sense of smell and taste. If you couldn't smell it, then it wouldn't taste so bad.
Moms know a lot of things and if you are lucky, you will remember them for the rest of your life. You will also impart this great knowledge on to your offspring for a lasting legacy. And if you are really lucky, you will be celebrating Mother's Day with your Mom this coming Sunday.
When you were little, you just did what Mom says. When you were a pre-teen, you questioned everything she said. When you were a teenager, you did nothing she said. When you had your kids, you wished she didn't keep telling you over and over what to do.Sometimes when you are older, you wish you could hear her say it, just one more time.
This is about the second or third post in which, I have wished you a Happy Mother's Day and I'm sorry for the redundancy. But you see, this will be my first Mother's Day since my mother passed away last July 5,2010.
Happy Mother's Day!
Oh Sandi, You just post away as you are thinking about your mom. I'll be thinking of you on Sunday!
So sorry for your loss Sandi, and as Karin said keep posting away, Moms do seem to have advice that gets better (or more easily appreciated) with time
Sandi, I wish you strength as you go through this coming Mother's day. It is always hard to go through those first holidays after the loss of a loved one. Your mother must have been a wonderful lady. I can tell that you miss her very much. ((Hugs))
Hi Karin~ Thanks for the nice thoughts. It does kinda help to write some about it. Have a great time on Sunday.
Thank you Diane. Yes the advice is appreciated later.
Hi Virginia~ They say it gets better with time and she was wonderful. Thanks for your kind thoughts.
