Melissa McKinney once wrote a blog about our parents/grandparents, etc. The theme was around how they won't have a web presence like we all do...good or bad!
So today I want to celebrate my mom so that when my grandkids (yet to be born) and their grandkids Google their history; there is a story about my mom, Dorothy Osza!
She is very strong person and from her I learned to be confident and self reliant. She had a wonderful marriage to my dad; but he died when she was 53. She is now 81 so that's a long time to go without a partner. What I remember most about them is their laughter. Everything was funny to them. I carry that with me today; I love to laugh.
She is on Facebook and loves keeping up with her kids and grandkids since none of us call as often as we should. Sometimes she will comment on a comment I make on someone else's post...that she doesn't know. And it will be fairly random; like "did you get the card I sent to you?" she hasn't quite mastered the conversation on FB can often be seen by more than just me. That is awkward, but charming all at the same time.
I have included two pictures, one from my wedding in 1979 and another one taken when we had a surprise birthday party for her 80th birthday (minus one daughter who couldn't make it).
She still volunteers at the hospital, ushers for the local theatre and folds bulletins for the church every third Saturday. She plays bingo and bridge and always gets the Ace's in Euchre... She is blessed and I am also blessed because she is my mom!
Happy Mom's Day Mom!
