Happy Mother's Day to my mother, my daughter-inlaw, my sisters, my friends and all of the women who have loved and supported my children through the years as their "other mothers". And to all the women out there who make the world a better place for having passed through it.
May you continue to find joy in your loving, selfless service to the beautiful children in our lives as they grow into the people they were meant to be.
This photo was taken this past September at my sister Kerri's home at a family BBQ. My son Dallas, a member of the Idaho Army National Guard, was about to be deployed to Baghdad, Iraq. His older brothers, Leighton and Wes, and younger sister, Kristen, all flew in to join Rick and me, and youngest brother Derek, in spending some time with him before he shipped out.

Although all my children are present and accounted for, it's not a complete family photo. My daughter-in-law, Trinity, and darling granddaughters Rileigh and Khloe, are missing. That's the thing about families, they grow, and as they do, so does the capacity for love and joy and contentment!
Kristen made the comment after a family photo shoot the previous Christmas, that she never thought she'd see the day that the boys in our family didn't outnumber us girls! Sure enough, we are currently at 5 girls and 5 boys. The tie will be broken in September with the eagerly anticipated arrival of grandchild #3. The love and joy and contentment just continues to grow as our family expands.

I love these amazing people more than I have words to say!
It's an honor and a blessing every day to be their mother!
