The Swiss Chicken That Almost Got Away

Deep in the mountains by a lake in Switzerland I ran across Brown Bears. Luckily they paid no attention to me. This bear was more interested in the Chicken that Ran Away. Obviously, he didn't get very far, but the bear was quite entertaining. I stood and watched the cycle of life in action. This is my sixth post about my recent trip to Switzerland, Italy, France and Monoco.

Sometimes it's better to do nothing but step back and watch. Here's an example that illustrates, "It's not about me." How often do we take things personally? This was a good life lesson for me. These photos are being presented in the sequence in which I snapped my camera.

Life is full of risks. Two worlds converged in that mountain pass in the Swiss Alps, and, I still wonder why...

Hi Patricia, I would be so excited if I saw a bear and this is even better...you were entertained by two beautiful bears.  What a wonderful trip.  Happy Mother's day to you!

Hi Patricia - Thanks for sharing the cycle of life with your great photos. Woody Allen once compared nature to an enormous restaurant.

Melinda,

Thanks! I hope you had a delightful day celebrating Mother's Day!

Yes! You are correct. I have a surplus of photos to blog for a long, long time. By doing so, it still feels like I'm reliving the dream. Reviewing the photos helps me to relive the moment and keep the memories alive. It's true, absence does make the heart grow fonder and it's my way of coping with the reality. I am blessed to have had the privilege of raising her; I am even more blessed to know that she has a good husband and a wonderful life. I can not live vicariously through her, but I can sure do my part to share the possibility for other to recognize that children do grow up. I hope people know how lucky they are to have their family live so close and have those family holidays together. It's often a tough pill for me to swallow; however, the fact is, she is doing exactly what makes her happy and isn't that what mother's want for their children?

Chris,

Thanks! I have faith and in a weird sort of way, I'm glad I got to witness the circle of life and to understand how this process fits into what is happening in America today. Like the animal kingdom, business is all about survival of the fittest. There's so much more I need to learn.

Brenda,

Me too! The bear seems so content with his trophy and notice how the others stay away, oh the other one tried, but didn't succeed.

Joni,

Thanks!!! It was a thrill and I'm glad I got some pretty good shots to share with all of you! To be honest, I've been more afraid on the South Side of Chicago and other places, I shouldn't have been.

Kristine,

I definitely learned and saw a lot! My daughter and her husband could be paid to be tour directors! They were GREAT!

That's funny what you said about the bears! LOL
