I did it.... I took a day off. It was actually almost a whole weekend. No open houses, no reading, no showings or (gasp) Active Rain! I spent Saturday with my best friend shopping for her wedding dress and then at a BBQ. And Sunday my girls and I stayed home and watched movies followed by a ride on the bike trail at dusk. It was a beautiful weekend with family. Happy Mother's Day to me.
Its in some peoples nature to want to work all of the time. And its way to easy to do that in real estate. Buyers can run you ragged and prospecting can be a major timesuck if you let it. And its something we all have to do or else we will starve to death. But at some point what we have to do can easily become obsessive until we spend more and more time away and less time at home. And while I incorporate my family into my job as much as I can sometimes it just has to stop.
Children need one on one time and they grow up way to fast, do you want to miss it. You relationship with your signifigant other is the bedrock of your family and if that breaks down your whole family could be in jeopardy. Some things are just more important then the next sale. So on this Mother's Day I want to remind you to remember what is truely important in life. Hope you all had a blessed day!
