Flipping your grocery store receipts -- you never know what you are going to get

Smith's Grocery Store in Mesquite NV - I always look at the front of my receipt to see what I paid - and did I get my Smith's discount?  And then I make sure that it does not have any tax deductable items on it before I throw it away.  I had lived in Mesquite for several months before I noticed the coupons on the back of the receipt.  Actually, somone told me.Smith's Grocery Store Coupon Receipt

This is one of the things that I tell my buyers from out of the area - they might miss the coupons like I did.

Flip it over and look on the back.

You never know what you are going to get!

Our local merchants provide these coupons, and it might be for a service that you are going to get anyway.  Some of them have expiration dates on the coupon in very small print.  :)

There is usually a golf discount coupon from one of our local courses.  They always have an expiration date.

I have a stack of these in my glove compartment - if someone is in town and wants to golf - I may have the coupon for the course they want to play.

This particular receipt gives you a chance to play on the Canyons Golf course for $45.00 - pretty good deal.  I have yet to see a coupon for Wolf Creek, but you never know.

This Ace coupon has $5.00 off when you spend at least $25.00 - my husband cannot Ace Hardware without spending at least that!

Use your Smith's grocery card - but don't forget to check on the back of the receipt.  Save some $$$.

I recently found I was throwing away free meals at a Thai restaurant that I like.

I am not a "coupon clipper", but hey, if they are printing out great discounts like this on your grocery store receipt - then go for it!

Thanks for the tip, Virginia.

Hi Virginia, I'm guilty of not using coupons as often as I mean to.  I try to keep them with me or else I won't have them when I need them.  I think you can save a lot of money with coupons if you just remember to s use them.  If you look at it on an annual basis, it really adds up!

Rob - I just discovered that JC Penney's has a coupon offer on the back of all their receipts, too.

Fred - Me, either - but these are easy to use.

Joyce - I started paying attention when I realized that there is a golf coupon - golfing is very expensive here.

Well what do you know....I just flipped over a grocery receipt I had sitting on my desk and it has a $5 off oil change coupon for the very place that I go for my oil changes and car washes.  Thanks, Virginia!

Our grocery stores used to do that many years ago, but for some reason they have quit. We get just plain old ugly useless receipts now.
