Why am I losing everything?????

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Fort Lauderdale Beach

Doe, a deer a female deer...

Ray, a drop of golden sun...

Me, a name I call myself...

Far, a long, long way to run...

Sew, a needle pulling thread...

La, a note to follow sew...

Tea, a drink of jam and bread...

that will bring me back to home......

Home, a place I want to be...

Warmth, it's what it is to me...

Why, cannot it come to me....

The thousands I saved for it to be...

Hillary, is not the answer to me...

Doe, a dope, a female dope...

Ray, a Monica from the puns...

Me, a name I thought myself...

Far...a long long way to come....

Sew....I want to go to bed....

La...I hope I have a bed...

T...a drink of jam and bread...

Doe...if I have enough cash for jam and bread...

I think that will bring me back to the Dough...

What do the people do that have to sell their homes through foreclosure due to the pathetic loans they were afforded that ballooned.  The people that trusted mortagage brokers 2-3 years ago are losing their homes...who's at fault here....??? The situation is grim...

WHAT DO YOU THINK??? DON'T JUST PEEK...LEAVE A COMMENT...SO MANY OF YOU CLICK AND DON'T REPLY...I WANT ALL YOUR OPINIONS...IT'S SAD WITH 8 PEOPLE TRYING TO LIVE IN A 2/2 BECAUSE THEY'VE LOST EVERYTHING...HOW BAD IS THIS IN YOUR CITY????PLEASE, PLEASE, GIVE YOUR RATING AND OPINION.  THIS IS IMPORTANT TO SHOW TO THE GOVERNMENT TO HELP OUT THOSE WHO HAVE LOST EVERYTHING.

We are number 4 in the nation. Many reasons, job losses in the Big 3, sub-prime lending with nothing down, people buying homes that should not have been buying, prices declining and can't sell for what they owe.

Missy,

I know, there are not enough homeless shelters...makes me sick.

Jason,

You to are correct...

What do we do to help correct this...???

We as a strong group of agents on Active Rain need to come together and make our feelings known!

Can we say GREED! I think the blame falls equally on all parties, the sellers wanted to make more and more money than their neighbors down the street did, the buyers felt left behind and wanted to jump on the gravey train, the lenders were there handing out tickets and us agents were right there loading the bagage on the gravey train to the land of easy money.

It's getting pretty bad here in NYC. It's unfortunate that all these people are losing their homes (did you know that over 2 million ARM's are due to reset in 2008?). It may get just as bad for countless more. Short-sales are the way to go in this market. Best of luck for 2008.

I think foreclosures may be on the rise because people are no longer afraid of the word.  It's almost acceptable or the norm to foreclose when you can't meet your financial obligations.  The previous generation would have worked 2-3 jobs each to make ends meet.  This is just a feeling I have, and it's simply an opinion.  I have no scientific proof, just a gut feeling.

As for numbers, 3 in my own neighborhood of 88 homes and many more in my region...increasing daily.

Vincent,

I just went to a worthless short sale seminar...

short-sales - in my opinion only are somewhat of a specialty - and I don't think most people even understand a short sale.  For that matter, even if they did, they wouldn't want to go there with the hope that they would make a few dollars...

Natalie,

I worked at FMH in the early 90's.  My daughter now works as an accountant in Frederick... It's a nice area.

People now think everything is free or someone else should help them out.

I agree, people used to work to save their home...now, they look to someone else to help them with the poor choices they have made.

Natalie,

I absolutely agree with you.  I have met some people who filed bankruptcy not just once, but more...  It amazes me that people choose to go that way instead of working and paying it off.

You know that this is just a way of living for them, if they did it more than once.  It is absolutely sad that people took advantage of this option and abuse it...

It is a very sad situation . We are all hung up on "keeping up with the Joneses" syndrome . The big house , the expensive cars , clothes , restaurants . Our parents , our grandparents , lived modestly , sacrificed and worked hard to give us all a chance at a better life .Unfortunately we did not learn from them .

Exactly...credit card debt is another thing that is killing people...if you pay your minimum's on time, they just keep giving you more and more credit.

Enrico, you are so right,

Thanks for your post.
