In the mind of a new agent.........regardless of what they tell you..........

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams First Coast Realty

When you ask a new agent, "How are you doing?" The answers you may get are "fine" "good" "ok" or you could be getting "frustrated" "annoyed" "discouraged", etc. Then, you start with the pep talk...."Have a positive attitude and things will look up for you" "Only unsuccessful people are negative." "It will get better"

How often though do you really stop and help to analyze the problem of new agents.....and TRULY help them with the realities of Real Estate.

Now, it has taken me a long time to actually get more active in what I'm doing which is yeilding more results. The more you do, the better things look. If you don't have the time to be sad, discouraged, upset about the market, etc then things would go a little easier.

New agents are different, because everyone is on a different learning curve and let's face it....going to Real Estate school teaches you everything that you need to know initially....to TALK Real Estate. It does NOT, however, show you how to sell or prepare you to work a commission only job.

Some agents will succeed at it...some will fail. Some will make $10,000 a year and some will make $1,000,000 a year or more.

We all have to start somewhere.

I think that the millionaires should give back by helping the little man figure out a plan of action to follow in the footsteps. Not everything works for every person, however, each millionaire has a different story of success.

Show me, tell me, and teach me how to make that first million....and remember....you were me once.

That's why I love KW.......    If you've never read it, get the book "The Millionaire Real Estate agent"

It's a great read! Ok...this blog was a little random, but it's late and I'm sleepy!

I think you have written a very fine post. Every one needs to think as a team and not of only I. What ever it is in life you do, you should always take to give a helping hand to someone new. You never know you may even get to learn something new from the new person you are helping.

Have a good one

Funny... you and I were on the same wave length, only I just posted on the financing side. I share your feelings. I've been in the business a little over a year (perfect timing, huh?), and I've only begun seeing positive results within this past few months. I definitely share your feelings. Great post!
