Bike riding in Minneapolis

By
Home Builder with Retired

Spring arrived in Minneapolis on Friday the 6th of May. We took advantage of sunshine and 60 plus degrees for an 18 mile ride down Wirthe Parkway to the Greenway. Lunch and Midtown Market and then east to the Missisippi River and north past the University, finishing on Plymouth Ave and back to my brother's house.

Biking in Minnesota

Minnesota has more paved, rails-to-trails biking trails than any other state.

We liked it so well that a different 6 of us drove to Wayazata Saturday and enjoyed even a nicer day riding 26 miles On the Dakota trail through the Lake Minnetonka area to St Boniface where we had an excellent lunch on an even beter day than the day before.

We're enjoying an extended family visit back in the state of my youth. You can go home again.

Oh I argued with my husband last November to take the mountain bikes to California and man was he glad I did. It is so much fun to check out a new place with a bike, especially Santa Barbara and it appears Minneapolis is a good idea to bring your bke with you too.  Pinnelous County Fla had great trails too.

Glen, I'm glad the weather was very nice for your bike rides.  Wow, 18 miles one day and then 26 the next.   There must be a lot of trails and you must be in really good shape.

Hi Glenn,

This is the time and this is the weather for riding. Much easier now than when the very hot summer days hit

Nice story
