It's been good to my family. Top picture Alex Mooers, son winning a heat in Akron Ohio in 2001. Had daughter Amanda win our local and the whole family in Akron For The All American Soap Box derby in 1998 too.

Lou ... This is where motivation starts with gravity racing, building a car, sticking with it. Same good stuff that kids glean from being a Brownie, Cub Scout, little leaguer or having a paper route, a job after school mowing lawns or working in a family business.

Bob ... Whatever it takes to bring the blog reader in to the marketing tent. Whether sticks and bricks or a neat statewide Maine soap box derby race program. We're lucky we built our own engineered hill. Half the work is taking over a public street, closing it down, all the safety bales of hay, setting up course and then tearing it down. That what is burns out derby locals. Our derby group has 60 hard core supporters, many without kids in the race who just love to see the look of terror and then sheer joy after that first run in lane one or two.  We can set this race course up quickly and tear down in an hour on each end max. Building a garage on the hill top this year to house the scales, timing equipment.
