There are a few things that say Austin in the summer. Swimming at Barton Springs, sunsets over Lake Travis, and the Paramount Annual Film Series. The Paramount kicks of its 36th Annual Film Series with a film fan meet and greet with Peter Bogdanevich. Bogdanovich directed Paper Moon and Mask, but is best known for one of his earliest works, Texas classic The Last Picture Show. More recently, Bogdanovich has gained a new audience, by playing a psychiatrist to a psychiatrist in the modern classic television show, The Sopranos.
The Paramount will show more than 80 classic films this summer. Casablanca will be shown on the 20th, with Mr. Bogdanovich offering his commentary and discussing Hollywood history. The admission is free for film members.
