Making myself *REALLY* stand out . . .

Real Estate Agent

DISCLAIMER:  I might have a touch of the insomnia bug so I hope I will make sense with all this.

I've been doing mailers for a bit now (3 or 4 weeks), I just ordered my first postcards and also my first door hangers so that I can do "farming".  All those things are good, I know, but I'm wondering what additional steps I can take so that I really stand out.  I want to grab a seller's attention and make them say "hey, I should really list with her and Century 21!".  I want to stand out amongst all the other Realtors in this small, established area.  It's hard being the new girl.  It's even harder when you've taken time off and came back into a town of very established Realtors with a large claim upon clientele here.

All I can do is continue to expand my "sphere of influence".  I'm not going to intentionally step on anyone's toes, but it's bound to happen that I'll contact someone's past client at some point or another.  Altus really isn't very big.  I'm the only Altus AFB wife currently on the AAOR (Altus Assoc. of Realtors) and I'm also doing my best to milk that one to it's fullest potential.

Have any of you found that either a car magnet or stickers in the back window for advertisement have worked for you?  I have a name badge now (just came in the mail today) and I'm hoping it will be a conversation piece.

I am up for any and all suggestions on this one!  Thanks to all of you in advance!!

Hi Renae,

You are a doer!

Many people in real estate are watchers, and listeners, and waiters.

The doers move ahead in any market, in any area, at any time.

Keep doing.

When you get an idea - implement it.

When you go to a class - put it into practice.

Doers win!

Renae: Thanks to your husband for his service.

All good stuff.  Wear your name badge-it is a conversation starter.  Like Sally and David said-participate in community activities-exposure is necessary.

Have your list of partners available-inspectors, electricians, plumbers, painters, etc to get your home fixed up, if necessary.  Also, the stager, photographer for marketing.  Become the source of expertise.

I think branding, having a label on your ride and parking it on the end of lines so all can see, positioning it like a billboard on wheels that is clean and reflect on you they start to associate with as successful coupled with your many listing inventory signs. But there are tons of agents that don't. Some of the comments are because they drive like a bat out of somewhere and don't want others in traffic to know it is their real estate agent, or one they might cross off the list to consider. Wow. Don't do it and the guy or gal from Country 22 will.

Renae....I think you should do a play on your name Renae pretty!!! pretty much sums it up, or does it get the picture.

Being here on AR will help you a lot, believe me. Just keep doing what you are doing.   It's something you need to eat, breathe and sleep to get started....and in this market, you can't let up.

good luck

All of these are wonderful ideas and suggestions!  I appreciate everything I've read here and will take it all to heart.

One thing I do have going for me is my drive...  I never let up, I never give up.  I might fall once in a while, but I always get right back up again.

I will keep going until I achieve every dream and goal I have now and then I'll go set some new dreams and goals.
