Opportunity Is Self Made!
Lets go to work, This has been the motto of Governors, State Leaders, CEO's and other visionaries. We simply cannot stand around a wait for something to get started. As leaders we must start planning well before other get their coffee or what ever it takes to get them motivated. As an Auctioneer I believe that I have to be ahead of the curve and the only way I accomplish my mission is doing my best to make things happen. Industry Leader Mike Jones CAI and World Champion Auctioneer says everyday " Lets Make it Happen " and he is right on target. Thanks Lydie for the inspiration and the blog. Thanks to other industry leaders for making things happen. Most of all thanks to people like C.J. who have stood and broadcast that if we work hard and look for opportunity, making things happen, we can all be the better for it.
"I had to make my own living and my own opportunity! But I made it! Don't sit down and wait for the opportunities to come. Get up and make them!"
-Madam C.J. Walker, creator of beauty products.I had never heard of Madam C.J. Walker and boy, have I been missing out! While reading her biography, this week, I learned that not only she was the first female self-made millionaire but she was born in 1867 of parents who were slaves! She made things happen for herself and her family. After reading her life story, I found it absolutely amazing how true this quote is.
That is actually why I have been missing the Rain, a little. I have been very busy. Maybe I should say, I have been harvesting the fruits of all my labor. I didn't just sit down, over the winter. I didn't wait up for an opportunity to knock on my door. I went out there and knock on doors! Many didn't open. A few did. And now, I need to learn to get up 1 hour before my regular time, if I want to make everything happen in a day. It is a fantastic feeling!
I got to go! Today, I have 2 classes to attend. I have to call a few clients. Tomorrow, home inspection and couple of showings. But first, workout time! This is what I have been "working" for! And it feels good!
