Florida Real Estate License Candidates Fingerprints Lost

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Jeanne Gavish, Keller Williams Realty Elite Partners

It appears as though the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation may have difficultySpring Hill FL Real Estate School locating and processing the Digital Electronic Fingerprints of Real Estate Licensng Candidates.  Some of the candidates were instructed to use the wrong vendor for fingerprinting.

As a Real Estate School Permit Holder and Instructor in Florida, I was notified to pass this along to anyone who is attempting to get their Sales Associate or Broker License in Florida.

If you think this will affect you, go to my School Blog and read the email from the DBPR, or contact me if you have any questions.

Jeanne, I would publish the very plainly everywhere I could.  This agency needs to be embarrassed a bit.  Although they simply made a mistake, it has, as will, cause quite a few people lots of problems.

Thanks Chistina.  Delays can cause failure of the test because the more time that passes after the course is over, the harder it is to retain the information.

Karen, help me spread the word, I am doing my best.  They say at best it will cause delays, worst case, the candidate has to take them over again and they are not cheap.  This applies to broker candidates also.

Ken and Leslye,

Unfortunately, the licensing bureau can make as many errors as it wants with no penalties.  They do not mention who gave the incorrect instructions. I can only hope the effects of this error are minimal.

Well... I hate to say it... but the Republicans are running the state.  I wonder if they put someone in charge of this committee or board... as a political plum... someone who really didnt have a clue what he was doing.  Just wondering...

Well, yes, probably. They don't run the day to day operations though, and don't micromanage the Department.  This error was on the level of the Division of Real Estate, and more specifically the call center.
