Home Inspector with 1st Look Home Inspection

20 years ago, who would imagine that we as home inspectors would be using all of this technology just to inspect a house! This new age has literally dragged home inspection into the 21st century. "Old Joe's" hand written inspection reports may still be as accurate as they always were, but who has time to try and read his "Chicken Scratch." Real Estate Inspectors must now combine knowledge of construction, manufacturing, installation, and functionality with skills such as communication, research, photography, and not to mention typing! Then, combining the whole package and putting it in a clear, easy to understand report in a short amount of time.  It all comes down to good communication. Being able to interpret how well a client understands an issue that has come up in an inspection, and how well the inspector communicates those issues should be considered. Simply putting a report together of what's wrong with a particular property is not completing the inspection. An inspector should also be able to inform a potential buyer how something works, or how to operate and care for something that they may have never had experience with (Gas water heaters, Swimming pools, A/C systems an so on.)

Having been in customer service for most of my life, I understand the needs of people that hire me as their inspector. I hope that I have been able to put that whole package together to better serve you, my future clients. So, let me have the "1st Look!"
