Using Google Voice to Attract Buyers & Sellers

If you're not familiar with Google Voice then be prepared for it to completely change the way you use the phone.  I've been using it for a year and now find it impossible to live without.  For a free service, this feature rich Google tool is one you need in your arsenal.

Google Voice Features

If you haven't spent any time researching  Google Voice, here's the scoop: 

First you choose your local phone number, then you setup where that number rings.  Your Google Voice number has a "follow me" service meaning you can reroute this number to your office, your cell or any other number. If you don't answer, your voicemail is stored online, where's it's available until you remove it.  It's also transcribed and emailed to you which can be a great source of comedic relief during a stressful day!  Check out this message I received last week:

A few of the other options include blocking numbers, custom voicemail messages, call recording, SMS voicemail alerts, call merging, and free domestic calling.

Embed Google Voice into Your Blog

Google Voice Widgets can be put on any web site or blog, and allow people to call directly from that web page. How cool is that???!  Here are the simple steps to setting it up:

Step 1:

Create your widget by logging into your Google Voice account and clicking on "Call Widgets."  You will then be given the html or funny looking text to embed.  It will look something like this:

Step 2:

You will now copy and paste that into your site.  We'll use Active Rain for example.  Login to your Active Rain Account and from your home page, choose settings.

Now take your copied text and paste it into your Blog Settings and click save.

Here's the end result on your Active Rain blog:

Now when someone clicks on your widget, they will connect directly to you.   You can create multiple call widgets and use them on all of your websites or blogs.  It's a great way to stay connected with your blog audience in an easy and affordable way!
