It's been a while since I posted anything about one of my favorite people, your landlord. You know, the guy who just raised your rent and scolded you for not following all his rules. Landlords are renters' favorite people, I guess. They must be your favorite, because you're making their mortgage payment for them. And, yes, there is probably a huge tax deduction for the interest on the mortgage. And, no it's not your deduction, it's your landlord's. You make the payment and he gets the deduction.
Your landlord is happy this month, because the rent increases are helping him pay for the high cost of gasoline he puts into his RV (thank you for helping him buy the RV with your rent payment). He is also happy that the increased price of dog food is being paid with your rent increase. You are so lucky that he is sparing you the expense of dog food by not allowing you to have a dog. He's also happy because most of his tenants are following his rules, ridiculous as they may seem. Anyway, the fact that he treats you all like infants should make you feel secure. The lease extension you just signed makes him feel secure too.
You are no longer making your landlord rich. He's already rich, and now you're making him richer. He sends his thanks and wants you to know that he promises to continue to take care of you and keep you secure. Also, the rumor that all tenants will soon have to wear uniforms whenever on his property is just a rumor at this time.
Some people like being treated like inmates, and some have the desire to be independent. If you have the maturity and desire to escape from renting in the next month, or the next year, call to arrange a convenient time for my home buyers' orientation and strategy session. There's no cost or obligation, and you'll probably have a good time. These private sessions are scheduled in my Eagan office and run between one and two hours. Well, what are you waiting for? Call me now.
