  1. Friendswood was founded in 1895 by two Quakers, or "Friends" as they are often called. The two men, Frank Jacob Brown, and Thomas Hadley Lewis named the colony Friendswood.Friendswood Park

  3. There are about 38,000 residents in Friendswood.
  4. For the first 50 years, Friendswood had a church, a school, a post office and a grocery store. That's all.
  5. Friendswood was incorporated as a city in 1960 when hundreds of NASA employees chose Friendswood as their home, and families from Houston began moving out away from the big city.
  6. Friendswood is located in two counties - Galveston County and Harris County.
  7. Four beautiful creeks criss-cross through Friendswood - Clear Creek, Mary's Creek, Chigger Creek and Coward's Creek.
  8. Friendswood covers 21.2 square miles. It is bordered by Pearland, Alvin, League City and Webster.
  9. There are about 14,000 households in Friendswood
  10. The average price of a new home in Friendswood in 2010 was $312,000.
