Would you buy this house?
I don't know how many times I've had a Buyer ask, "Would you buy this house?" I appreciate that they value my opinion, but it's kind of hard to answer. After all, I'm not in the market for a new home, so I'm not looking at the house in that light. We're not viewing homes based on my Wish List, we're viewing homes based on theirs and I never project my wishes or what I would consider a requirement in a home on my Buyers.
I can tell them if I think it's a great deal based on the price, condition, location and area market. But to say whether or not I would buy the home -- that's tough. I'm not the one who matters here; my likes or dislikes are unimportant.
When we reach the point where they ask me that question, I have a few questions of my own: Does the home fit your needs? Does it meet most, or maybe even all of your Wish List? Does it feel like a place you could call home? If you had to buy it at full asking price, would you still want it? How you answer these questions is really all that matters.
I'm not in the market for a new home, you are! Sooooo, the question needs to be: Will you buy this house?
