Craig - as always you bring the best content. Like Tish, I am sure if I do it a few times it will be MUCH easier!!!
Once I can figure out this feature, I'll be using it all the time. Thanks, Craig!
Thanks Craig... I was just thinking about how to put a google map on my localism posts!
Craig, how timely. I was just asking several rainers how they created bounded areas on their maps. Now I've got the answer. I'm off to try it.
Very cool Craig...i can see the boundaries working for towns or villages too...thanks
Thanks so much Craig! You are such a wealth of information--I have bookmarked more of your posts than any other author!
I add these to all my local posts and it seems to be helping. We've been getting listed on more ona more towns in google places. I'm bookmarking so I can watch the video later.
Craig,
Thanks for sharing. I'd been wondering about this. Bookmarked and suggested.
Tish - definite THANK YOU :)
Cyndi/Bill - hopefully seeing it made it much easier
Eric - can't wait til the report you have it mastered
Peggy - watch the width on a localism post if you are going to those pages (they are narrower)
Leah - just in time! :)
Chris - don't forget my catalog page as a place to lookup by category - thanks! much appreciated
Debbie - thanks for the firsthand experience, I have a special technique on the boundaries I think everybody will like to make it easier
Virginia - thankssss! :)

Craig, another superlative post to lift our blogs to another level. You really seriously ROCK!
Sharon
Hey, these are very good tips. Thanks for sharing them; I will be sure to tell my clients, too.
Hi Craig - Google keeps coming up with great features to make Google Maps even more useful for us.
Thank you for this. I love Google Maps. I use them all the time preparing for inspections. I did not know these things were possible. So thanks again.
Craig: Thanks for spelling out the steps. I've done this but it's time-consuming...and frustrating sometimes. Your tips will help me streamline the process.
Craig:
Love this, and bookmarked for more reading. I love Google Maps but do not do nearly what I could with it. Thanks for a great tutorial.
Jeff
Craig I agree with Tish Lloyd too. I need to start using this more and include Video in some of my blogs as well. You are a very tech savvy person. You are another great addition to this Wonderful Real Estate Online Community. By the way is there a way you can include Google Maps on Craiglist Ads? I'm curious. Thanks for sharing. Great post.
HI Craig,
We have been wondering how to do this and use it more regularly, we so very much appreciate you once again being our master teacher,
I think AR needs to start paying you, you are the best.
Nice Crain -it's one of those things I'm going to do... GOING to being the operative words.
Excellent information. I really need to use maps on my blog posts. Thanks so much!
Hi Craig - Didn't know about editing by using midpoints. That's good to know for more complex maps.
Hi Craig, excellent post..I need to use Google Maps in a lot of areas..Thanks for sharing.
UM...
OK, so you probably got 50 more people to subscribe to you because of the vulgar amount of use this post is for people in real estate.
<thinking...thinking...dammit man think....>
❦ Another wonderful tutorial Craig! Love Google maps and
they sure bring in some great clients!
Pamela
I often add google map links and embed maps, but did not realize it was this easy to customize my maps. Thanks for the lesson Craig
I really had no idea that you could do this. Google Maps really is the best... and what a cool way to implement them!
Thanks for this lesson ..i will have to bookmark this ..I was trying to figure out how to do this..thanks for the info it is very helpful
Hannah
Craig - This is most helpful again... bookmared again.. Like Irene say's I believe it should be called Craigs List...lol oh yeah that's already been used.... Thanks again for this great tutorial..
Thanks for the post on Google Maps. It's just on of many free services you can get form Google. I've found Google Voice especially useful.
Craig -- Question -- You ended in HTML. If you need to go change back into wysiwyg to modify the post, it does weird things. Once I change to html to embed an iframe, I keep it there (in html). Only problem is if I want to add anything, I have to then modify the html code directly which I would rather not do. Any suggestions? Thanks for another great video.
Craig - Great information on Google maps. They are easy to make and embed on your website.
I truly appreciate the detail you go to in demonstrating how to these things Craig. I was bemoaning the fact that I needed to learn to embed Google maps and my daughter said she would show me. I said Hmmmm....I'll wait for Craig to show me....much less stressfull for all.
thanks everybody for your comments - sorry I have not been here to reply - going out again today - I WILL be back later to followup on all of the above! thanks! -craig

Susan - glad you have plans to use :: Barb - glad to help :: John - yes my little special secret revealed for all my students!

Aaron - awesome you picked up new stuff :: Hannah - glad I can be helpful to HH ;) :: Robert - craig's list can become craig's catalog! be sure and check out that link if you haven't already, I keep the page updated :: Alan - I use pretty much everything google, I hope to blog more about each
Barbara - as you know, you have to be in HTML view to paste in the embed code. If you need to edit the body of the text of the article it is much easier to do in WYSIWYG ... however, this view in AR seems to eat up the iframe codes. So when you post the iframes disappear. If you need to simply rewrite a sentence or correct a spelling mistake, try as best as you can to stay in HTML mode as hard as that is to read with all the codes. However, if you must go to WYSIWYG you'll need to bounce back once more through HTML and paste your embed code(s) back in again. For this reason you may want to keep a reference document with your embed codes for future reference in case you need to go back to them again. Hopefully AR in the future will give us a better editor that will preserve iframe codes... but for now this seems to be the procedure that will get you through it.
Robert - thanks for visiting :: John - hope you get back to the bookmark at some point :: Steve - glad I got to it before you got tired of waiting! :) :: Pamela - appreciate the group feature :)
Hello Craig. I was trying to watch the video but for some reason it kept stoping. I would have to watch this later on. And I got the e-mail. So are you saying that I can do the same thing on Craiglist? Thank you very much. Great post.
Craig, as usual great information shared here. Can't wait to get this broker exam out of the way so I can come back and spend some time reviewing all your post more in depth and implementing.
Lanre: Yes. Craig is a great teacher.
Craig: Even I learned something today! Thanks for sharing, this is tough to learn. I have used this in my posts & I love it & people feel that they can actually 'see' the area better.
Craig, I have so many of your posts bookmarked that the file is bulging! I buzzed over today because you got a sweet shout out from Gayle.
Craig, thank you so much! This technique is so much better than copying and inserting the map into your blog.
You are so generous with your time and expertise. Thanks so much for all the great tips and tricks!
You are getting reblooged plenty this morning. I need to catch up on reblogs and comments and you have some great stuff!

Craig:
Thanks for the info. I have tried to do this without much success. Hopefully your instructions will be the key to my being able to embed maps in my blogs.

M.C. - very much appreciate the subscription, glad you liked! :)
Evelyn - I hope this helps you :)
Jayne - great to hear!
Tara - you are very welcome, nice to see you
Penny - I appreciate that, thanks
Mike - Video is good for that, replay as often as needed
Lyn - I'm happy to see you returned to this post (see #56, hehe) Isn't great that these things live on the web as long as we need them :)
Mike - you are very welcome, thanks for visiting
Craig - I have posted thinngs in html before without a problem but I am having one hell of a time with this. I tried in Chrome and figured it had to be a Chrome problem, so I went to IE and guess what, it isn't a Chrome problem...............I can't get it to save a specific size nor can I get the map to post.. I do get a little link at the bottom of a blank area with a link to click to get to the map, but no map..................did they change something since this was posted?
I also have one heck of a time getting the link to do anything when I click on it...................what am I doing wrong???????????????????
Nice clear instructions - thanks. When I look at all the things folks add to websites, I think this is one of the most useful. When i do begin to "step things up" goole maps will be one of my first enhancements.
My goodness, After we completed our Blogging Boot Camp w/ the incredible Bob Stewart, this appeared on my browser, not once, but 6 times, & I think it is meant to be the answer to my 3-4 year old ques., that I posted oon the ques. box, that has frustrated the heck out of me. Thank you, Bob Stewart, if you sent this to me, and thank you, ahead of time, Craig Daniels, for saving my life...I hope...ha/not!
I'm definitely bookmarking this. I've been wondering how to embed google maps. I see it done in other posts but it's one of the things I haven't been able to figure out.
Aaagh. I watched the tutorial twice and when I edit my blog I see the embedded map. Once I hit publish, where the map should be is a large white area - but no map. Please help. What did I do wrong?

Thank you for your time and help!
Craig-always nice to stop back for a refresher on how to post a map. Thanks.
Thanks Craig!!! I really appreciate you doing this video!!! :) God Bless, Tyra
I've been saying for forever that I was going to learn to do this but I never took the time, in the end. Hopefully, this time things will be different. It's such a great addition.
Hi Craig, what a coincidence that I found this today via Rebecca's reblog, I just wrote a blog on mapping with google maps a few days ago with a different spin.
Thanks for the video and info!
Craig As always you are a fantastic source of information. Thanks for all you do. I can't wait to try this.

Barry Kessler
I often forget how to do it, so i'm coming to your post again and again.
Let us know if there are any updates( since AR is changing)
Thank you Craig for teaching me how to create google maps. I had trouble at first because I use Chrome and only saw a white box where the map was, but on your advice (your answer to another's similiar question) I refreshed my browser with F5 and I saw the map! Lots of fun and very useful to know. Thanks so much.
Absolutely awesome video!! I used it step by step to create and embed my first map!! Thank you so much!

Good Morning Craig-Thanks for the tips on embedding Google maps well worth the time spent watching your video.
Thanks for sharing, i am glad you put the part in there about embedding the html. I always have trouble with that . I will try it now .thanks again
Thank you very much for sharing this. And I really love your Blog signature. Can you please share a link of a video or blog that you have done on this. I am trying to update my Active Rain blog signature with widgets of my other Social Media sites. Thank you.
This is a great article which I have bookmarked. My only question is do we have to credit Google or Google maps when we use a picture or embed a map into our articles?
Eric - When you embed a google map using the iframe HTML code, the Google attribution will appear automatically. If you were ever to to screen capture and insert as a static image, you are required to give the same google attribution that you see at the bottom of the map when you captured it (i.e. don't crop off the attribution text when you make your image) - good question!
Thank you very much for your reply, Craig! I haven't been using Google Map screenshots because I didn't think that I could
Thanks. Just embedded my first map. See how these posts just live on.
