10 Reasons to Say YES to First Time Home Buyers

By
Real Estate Agent with Shasta Living Real Estate #01470905

First Time Home Buyers ruled the real estate market in 2010 and yes, they're doing it again!

This young generation of buyers are primarily Generation Y-ers (or Millenials), and according to forecasters this generation is predicted to spend $200 billion dollars in the U.S. this year alone.

So why embrace this generation? Here are 10 reasons to say "YES" to First Time Home Buyers:

1. They're well educated

2. They don't sweat the small stuff

3. They know what they want

4. They value your expertise

5. They are motivated

6. They love to text

7. They're contagious

8. They know LOTS of people

9. They're tech-savy

10. They Mention You on Facebook

Great list! I look forward to working with first-time home buyers, as I want to share in their excitement, and also to help them learn the whole process. I remember the first time I bought a home, and it seemd at the time, to be one of the greatest accomplisments ever. I guess it was the feeling of independence.

Great list! I find FTHBs to be fairly patient with the process, too.  Repeat buyers often expect the process to be painless like it was when they bought previously!

Yes, they mention  you on facebook! That's why you should friend your buyers, or make sure they like your business page!

All great points. They will probably be moving up some day, so if you do a good job and keep in touch - guess who they will most likely call?

I am just getting started on my real estate career, but I am definitely looking forward to working with First time buyers.  One of the exciting things about real estate for me is the building of relationships.  I would love to help people find their first home and continue to be part of their lives for years after that.

Jesse - sounds like you found your niche market! You're going to knock it out of the park. If you don't have systems in place for your business, you should consider putting them into action. I'd be happy to give you some pointers. Maria
