Many Hands Make Light Work
You've probably heard this expression a gazillion times, but did you know where it came from? This quote has been attributed to English playwright and poet, John Heywood who lived from 1497 to 1580. His message was clear. If you have enough people helping out on a project, a great deal of work can be accomplished in a short period of time.
This was our premise when we asked for volunteers at our last business meeting. The landscaping and planting beds around our office had taken a beating this past winter and the weeds had taken over again. In total, we had 10 volunteers who offered to spend today on an office beautification project. Among the ranks were our Managing Broker, Office Administrator, two affiliates from our title and insurance companies, and 6 REALTORS from our office. All the plant and hardscape materials were donated by the group and included day lilies, pansies, petunias, impatiens, marigold, azalea, iris, hostas, a bird bath and fieldstone for the walkway. AND, our managing broker sprung for an outlandish pizza lunch for the troops.
If you are looking for a team building activity, and need a little beautification around your office, this kind of project is a great way to have fun and work with your associates. We all have busy schedules right now, but came together as a group to make this happen. Of course, we all had our cell phones on :)

When I said we all pitched in, I meant everyone. Jim, here, is President of our local board AND sits on the NH Real Estate Commission.
