Getting nature to cooperate with a clear day when the photographer is available is always a dilemma. This Sonoma County retreat property has had non-rainy days when I have tried to grab some pictures, but clear is a relative term when your viewshed includes mountains more than fifty miles away. I have had to settle for painterly haze on the horizon.

I think I would sit there and wait for the haze to lift. I'm getting a lot more patient in my older years...
