It was one of those cold rainy days here in Avon Lake Ohio. Not very attractive to people shopping for a home in the area. Showing a wonderful home in the Ventanas development. But I have to say those that did come were the truly serious buyers. And when you think about it, who really is going to be out in this weather? I was happy with the limited company that I did nave and things perhaps rainy day are perhaps the preapproval of open houses
I just can't bring myself around to doing any open houses anymore. I have done very very few over the last 4 years. I was out today showing homes, and that is so much better than sitting and waiting for someone to knock on the door that has not been preapproved, or is just a nosey neighbor etc.
It's been cold and raining all day here too! Not exactly a wonderful day for open houses, but there is always so many reasons for buyers to avoid open houses...weather too nice - cut the grass - ballgame -- out with friends or family --- weather is too raining...too cold...too hot
I don't see the traffic I used to at Open Houses. Time was, people had to get in the door to see what the house looked like inside, or if it had three bedrooms or four. Now, that's only a click away on the internet!
I think open houses can serve as a source for buyers without agents so it can be a good thing. It depends on the location and amount of traffic you can generate.
Well, you know that serious buyers will pop in as it's raining. Nothing will stop them from home hunting!
Stan - congratulations on a "quality" open house. It is not the numbers, but getting the one right one!
Now that is an optimistic viewpoint, Stan - rainy day open houses being a pre-qualifying factor. You are probably right - who else is going to be out but serious buyers?
