This past weekend Drew and I attended the Lake Oconee Food and Wine Festival at Reynolds Landing. The tent was packed with tons of familiar faces, everyone looked to be having a good time, and Redeemer Episcopal Academy‘s academic and enrichment programs should fare well from the proceeds of both the silent and live auctions. Tons of local restaurants were on hand preparing tasty samples and wine vendors were there to wash it all down with wines from all over the world. Two of my favorite things in one place. I was a very happy camper!
What was my favorite? Let’s see, the crab cake samples from Troutdale at Harbor Club were great but I’m still thinking about the white chocolate bread pudding bananas foster served by Aubri Lanes, located in Milledgeville. It was probably one of the best tasting desserts I’ve ever had and I was beyond disappointed when I went back for seconds during the auction but the food vendors had already packed up. I’ll be making the trip to Milledgeville just for that dessert in the near future I assure you. Classic Wines was on hand giving out free t-shirts and R&R Insurance Group provided us with flip flops from Old Navy!
The evening’s auctions saw some great prizes awarded to the lucky bidders including an Alaskan Fishing Getaway, An Escape to Atlantis, an Extreme Tailgating Package for this years Georgia vs. Auburn Football Game, an ETON Beamer Series Scooter, a Down Home Pig Roast for 50, and a Zac Brown Band Ultimate Fan Package. Many stepped up and showed their support to the Redeemer Academy and in turn took home some great prizes!

Already looking forward to next years event! And some more of that bread puddin’………
