This Ain't Your Mother's 1950's Rambler! Home Staging and Redesign in Minneapolis, MN

I got the opportunity to work with a contractor who bought this 1950s Rambler in it's original condition and totally updated it for today's buyer.

Do you remember the Rambler's from the 50's. Small chopped up rooms? This developer took down walls, opened up the room, opened the staircase, and put in 21st Century Upgrades.

First of all check out this back-splash!

Virginia Circle Backsplash

The biggest positive feedback the investor received was how open the home was.

So, staging this vacant home meant keeping the openness but defining the space so the buyer could see how the furniture would be layed out.

The rooms actually look bigger now.

Your eye now goes directly to the stunning fireplace instead of getting lost in the empty room.

Can't you see  yourself cozing up to this fire with a book!

This home is located on a golf course in an incredible neighbor in St. Louis Park, MN and I don't think it will be on the market long!

Rooms With Style Home Staging and Redesign in Minneapolis, MN can assist you with all your needs including both vacant and occupied homes. We can also recommend changes to your current home if you aren't moving with a Redesign Consultation.

I love seeing homes rehabbed and updated.  And the staging is just icing on the cake. I have no imagination, so staging is very important to me! Beautiful job, Shar!

What a beautiful looking home, and you did a fabulous staging job Shar!    Those floors and the open floor plan is really appealing, and should be a QUICK SALE!

Shar, I must admit, I have a listing of a new construction with a difficult layout that COULD use staging, however, I gave the seller an offer last night and seeing he was so stuck on his unrealistic number, I fear nothing would work! However in most cases it would and I see the benefits as you presented them.

Now that's a home that is going to sell in a snap!  Beautiful job; you and the owner

PS -  that back splash of glass tile is exactly like the 1880's marble I have around my fireplace downstairs.  Upstairs, in the master bedroom, the marble cut is the same but the colours are green and burgandy!  Everything old becomes new again.

Shar - That is one sexy backsplash!  I love the repetition of the pattern in the rug with the pattern in the cushions.  It's the small details like that that catapult your work into a higher level.  Beautiful work!

Shar--the contractor did an amazing job with the renovation; and, you, of course, did a phenomenal job with the staging.  Love the feel of the house after you staged it.

Thanks for all the wonderful messages. I was reading them while I was staging another vacant today and they kept me motivated!

Thank you Kristine. The furnishings did add a little wow to the empty space.

Thank you Cinnamon. It was icing, perfect analogy as the contractor had done a wonderful job and it just needed the pretty stuff.

Thank you Christine!

You are welcome Judy. Thanks for stopping by.

I hope it is a quick sale Joan! And thank you.

Ellen, a difficult layout needs staging more than ever! I hope he changes his mind.

That is so cool Susan! I would love to see a picture of it. I bet it is beautiful and to know it is that old, wow!

I don't take before pics before a consult either Peg. I never usually get to see it finished with my suggestions until it is on MLS.

Catapult, love that word Sally! Thanks for noticing the details. And I so agree on that back-splash.

Thanks so much Janice. This house use to have the cellar type stairs going to the basement and it was great the contractor took the time to open them up.

Thanks Sharon. It is a fabulous updated home.

You are so right Julie! And thank you.

Thanks Janet. The contractor and I will pat each other on the back. LOL

Preparing your property for sale

Hi Shar, I seem to remember reading a stat once that empty houses take approximately 16% longer to sell and usually sell for about 10% less than an occupied home.  Does anyone have up to date figures on that aspect of selling a home?

Seems you have waved your magic wand again and created a simply inviting home. I can see a buyer wanting to move right in. Love the cozy effect you have created by that fireplace.
