Pie, Pie, I like Pie - especially at Rapid Valley in Lansdowne!

By
Industry Observer

Do remember the movie "Michael"?  John Travolta playing an angel.  They stop at a diner to have pie and make up a song about all the pies . . .

Well that was me today!   I took my Mother to a fantastic place in Lansdowne . . .  Rapid Valley .

They serve many fantastic home-style foods but are known locally for their fantastic pies!

Well hold onto your socks . . .   they had a new one for me to try today:

PEANUT BUTTER AND JAM PIE!!!!!

This pie was out of this world fantastic!!!!

Created by Logan Gagnon and it was her first attempt at it too.

If you're in the 1000 Islands area I highly recommend that you head to Rapid Valley in Lansdowne and treat yourself to a slice of pie -  you'll not regret it!

While you're in the area, give Susan Emo a call if you're interested in Buying or Selling Real Estate!

Susan, glad you had a nice day with your mom and what a pie...never heard of that combo, its like the concoctions you make as kids.

Susan-Now peanut butter pie I could do but don't think I would want the jam although I love PB & J sandwiches but don't know about with pie.  So how far do you live from the 1000 Islands? I was about 1/2 hr away when I live in Watertown NY. I have been to the 1000 Islands many times. It is a gorgeous area.

Hi Susan~

I'm in trouble if my husband sees this post! He is a fantastic pie maker, the best in all our family. He also is a pie lover, over cake, cookies or any other confection you could dream up.

If he made this pie, I would have to leave town for a few days til it was gone!

Nice way to end lunch with Mom!...

Susan...you are preaching to the "choir" here--I love Peanut Butter & Jelly; though at this stage in my life it is only Simply-Jiff [low sodium & low sugar], Sugar-free Smuckers Orange Marmalade on Aunt Millie's 12 grain -6 gm fiber bread.
Am certain that you pie was not made of those items. If one doesn't need to cut anything--then that pie looks to be great.  Glad that you & your Mom could share this experience together.  Have a great rest of the week.

Ellen -  we had a lovely time thank you.  Logan isn't much more than a kid herself so that makes her genius in my book  :0)

Sharon -  I was afraid the jam would make it too sweet but it was just perfect!

I actually live in Gananoque which is the Gateway to the 1000 Islands.  How cool that you used to live so close to me!

Sounds like a plan. I have walked across that bridge. Not in a long time though. Won't be this year but can make a plan for next summer.

Tammy -  I LOVED it sooooo much I didn't eat any lunch!  All I had was the pie and coffee, lol.    There was a child at the next table that was very put out when I told the waitress I would have my dessert first and if I had room, then I'd have lunch.  LOL    I really enjoy the perks to being a big kid!!

Hi Susan - I bet they sell a lot of those pies to kids.  Looks like a very tasty pie.

I just looked up Lansdowne on GoogleMaps.  Not too far from my castle and EEE and a great spot to stop while driving to / from the I81, Route 20 or Hwy 416.

Susan, I love peanut butter and jelly, I'd love to try that pie one day.  Did your mom like it?

Thanks for the reminder of a really funny movie.  Will have to revisit it one day.

Gloria -  I hope someone can find it (or make it!) because it really was surprisingly good!   My Mother is diabetic so she thought it would be too rich and too sweet so she opted for Coconut Cream!!!   LOL

She is 82 (and 3/4s) so I guess that's ok.  She also had pie instead of lunch :0)
