Low Carb or No Carb Snack: Crispy Kale Chips!
Always in search of a low carb or no carb snack, I found the ultimate this weekend.
First let me tell you I LOVE potatos in any way, shape or form, including potato chips. They called me 'the potato kid' when I was growing up. But now that I'm going light on the carbs it's not easy to keep eating potatos and potato chips.
Finally, I have found a replacement for the potato chip! It's Kale, baked, if you can believe that. Kale is healthy, has minimal (if any) carbs, and is a nutritional powerhouse to boot.
Here is the recipe to this low carb or no carb snack:
- I bunch of Kale
- Oil Spray
- Black & Tan Gomasio Sesame Seeds and Sea salt
- Garlic Gomasio Sesame Seeds and Sea salt
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Wash the Kale and shake it off. Trim the ends and cut the leaves into 3 or 4 inch pieces. Spray the baking sheet with oil, and lay them in a single layer. Then spray the Kale with the oil spray. Next, sprinkle Black & Tan Gomasio AND the Garlic Gomasio to your tasting. Bake for 10 minutes or until the Kale looks crispy and/or the crinkly edges begin to brown.
The Kale will be crispiest if you cook it directly on the baking sheet vs. adding aluminum foil.
These were so delicious my husband and I scarfed down 1 bunch of Kale in no time.
Enjoy, and let me know how you like this low carb or no carb snack!
