The Springfield Diner opened its doors in January of this year at 720 Baltimore Pike where Bennigan's used to be.   There are always cars in the parking lot so it seems like this place is doing well. 

I've only been there for breakfast during the weekend hours and have not been disappointed. Their food is reasonably priced and even though there was a line, it moved rather quickly.  

If you are looking for a new breakfast place, make sure you check out the Springfield Diner. 

Their hours of operation are 6 AM - 1 AM Sunday through Thursday and 24 hours a day Friday and Saturday.

Gloria, there is something about mentioning the word "diner" which makes me want blueberry pancakes or an old fashion ice cream sunday... regardless of the time. Your post is a solid way to help your local main street economy!

My step-Dad loved to eat in diners because he could order anything he felt like. He was kind of ornery so if you took him to a seafood restaurant-he'ld order steak and vice versa.  We learned to take him to a diner :)

Emily, Yes blueberry pancakes would be really good right now!  I'm glad to see this place is doing well.  That spot had been vacant for a while.  Activity is much better.

Karen, There are so many in this area and in NJ.  I really enjoy visiting the old small tin can dinners that have been around for years and when you enter you are entering into the past because the decor has not changed over the many years.  I wouldn't be surprised if they started in NJ. 

Toni, You are welcome.  Good that you figured out what made your step-Dad happy.  My dad loved dinners also because many are open 24 hours.  He also liked the fact that as a regular he made friends at a few diners.
