MEET SKYE....

<keep in mind that I have entered the May Challenge & PhotoBlogging must require "words" too>

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY gives me a day to PhotoBlog. No thought process needed here. This is why you see me working hard. He is an absolute angel... from Heaven above... He says the right things at the right time. He is now 8 and will have a birthday come August. (He's planning his bash already!). Well, except when he CRY/YELLS if he feels the world NEEDS to stop because his dog got a hold of his shirt or he forgot his homework at school. He can only express it with a YELL/SCREAM with crocodile tears... YIKES! Ok, but not here.......... <sigh>

This day was taken outside the Ritz-Carlton in Maui on Spring Break and although there was a whole lot to do.... Can you guess what he's looking down at and doing???

His friend liked a necklace that he saw in the gift shop on our first night and he really wanted one too. Although, he is not a necklace type of kid, being in Maui he thought a shark's tooth would be cool to have around his neck ;) TOO CUTE! So, we bought it and he had to wear it every day we were there. He made me hold on to it when he went out to surf. As he did not want to lose it.

Amazing child and also my Tuesday Treasure NOW and every day.......... ;) Being away on vacation and being able to be with him every second of the day.... was special... Especially, with his sports and school schedule.

AND IF YOU LIVE IN THE O.C. YOU ARE WELCOME TO COME OUT AND JOIN US AT THE BEACH OR EVEN COME TO ONE OF HIS GAMES... OR PLAY GOLF. FOOTBALL, BASEBALL, BASKETBALL AND GOLF... HE DOES IT ALL! REMEMBER THE NAME. HE SAYS, "I WILL PLAY A PROFESSIONAL SPORT MOM". Gotta love that spirit and confidence!

Lauren - I get it having a son myself and he is the greatest joy in my life. He is now 23 and we do more together than ever - I feel blessed every day that God gave me such a wonderful son! Lauren, That is very special! I didn't have a son and my stepdaughter had a child at age 16 and unable to raise the child, very long story. The good that did come out of it, my wife and I were very blessed being able to raise him. He graduates from high school this year, we love him very much. They grew way to fast!

Tagrid... thanks and that's funny you say that... when he was an infant they would say, "she is gorgeous..." I would say... "no he's not a girl..." and they would say, "he is so gorgeous I thought he was a girl...." I would then, just say, "thank you". and he didn't even have long hair then... LOL~

Kristine~ sweet of you to say... thank you... My older son and I were close at this age... I hope he still wants to hang with mom later like your son does now. SBrandon~ older guy is Mr. Independent! I think he is at that stage that he wants no one around him... You are lucky!

I can see that you're proud of your son. But here's a suggestion, no more "only express it with a YELL/SCREAM with crocodile tears", and I say this from lessons learned. At 8 they all get to go on the computers at school. Now, he looks up his mother from Google and there is her blog...about him with "crocodile tears"... lol Now really, I do understand you don't want him to grow up, but he is, and as such, he's a boy, and well... you get the picture. Btw, I was a single parent when my son was 8 and reared him by myself...

Keith~ your son is gorgeous! What's his name? There is a reason for everything. That's for sure. You and your wife are amazing! ;)

Kenneth~ They can't google in school, Strictly lessons only, but even if he did he already knows... He has an iPad at home and iPhone and we are very open and discuss everything out in the open... He asks, "mom, did you blog about me this week?' I don't believe in keeping certain subjects hidden or the "No, that will hurt his feelings...." moments. He had the HUGE YELL/SCREAM at a baseball SCRIMMAGE. Scrimmage for goodness sake. I told him to come sit with me if he is too hurt. The tears cleared up quickly. He's going through his emotional state, but we are up front parents. IT IS, WHAT IT IS. He already saw the blog... He's in the moment kind of kid.... Words Mom says.... don't effect him. It's what he's feeling and ONLY what HE is feeling is his way to express it, is with tears... Another AR Member met him and can tell you... He went CROCODILE tears to smiling in two minutes... Literally. She turned her head in AWWW... saying, "those were REAL, huge tears". I told her, "I know...." Nonchalantly he said, "it's okay I have a NO HOMEWORK FREE pass". OMG~ Did we just go through this? Really? My husband tells him, "there's no crying in baseball". As if we haven't heard that before... And we tell him, maybe he can't go to the golf course or play a game. There has to be a way to handle this where it will all be OK. We are working on it... He is a lovely child...

We have a 22yr old too and he was the opposite. That child won't shed a tear for anyone... Go figure... Every child is different... that's all I can really say... I think as parents we are always trying to pacify our kids. Hide words. Walk on egg shells. I am a NO NON Sense MOM and Woman.... I don't ever stop telling him I love him, hug him and tell him how great he is! That's me. But if they are wrong or need some SPECIAL direction I am telling them. Publicly is ok too. In a descent manner. Builds character. His dad and I are married and we raise him together and he is solid as a rock! I will blog here on AR as long as they exist... Keep you posted... if God willing...

Your son is adorable. I love the color of his hair, is it natural? His hair reminds me of my 8 year old cousins hair that has the most amazing natural highlights in it. Makes me jealous because I have to pay for mine :)
