Warm, sunny weekend weather in northwest Georgia will greet visitors to the sixth annual Mableton Community Day celebration. This event will be held at the Mable House complex Saturday, May 21. The day will begin with the inaugural 5k race at 8 a.m. Then, starting at 10 a.m., activities will include a wide variety of musical and stage performance entertainment, story-telling, tours of the Historic Mable House, arts and crafts, jump houses for the children, clowns and other children-friendly activities. The fourth annual Classic Car show will also be held.
The day will be capped with the first of this year's Candlelight Series concerts, featuring Kelly Ayres and Rambunctious. Mableton Community Day celebrates the end of another successful school year, promotes fellowship and supports community development in the Mableton area. The celebration highlights the ethnic and cultural diversity of the area to current and future residents. Personal and professional triumphs in civic volunteerism will also be celebrated by awarding the third annual Mableton Business, Nonprofit, Volunteer and Teacher of the Year awards. Admission is free to all activities except the 5k race and children's jumping devices. For more information, visit pebblebrookjr.com/community.html.
