Pasco Countys Property Appraiser Mike Wells was the keynote speaker at a luncheon at my local Board of Realtors. A lot of Great News was Shared at the Meeting.
Wells Fargo has donated $25,000.00 to the West Pasco Habitat for HumanityOrganization which in cooperation with the West Pasco Board of Realtors are now able to have our first Realtor Built Home in Pasco County. The "Buy It and Bolt It" campaign is gaining momentum. We urge everyone in the Real Estate Business to Purchase the "Support Home Ownership for All" license plate. The proceeds from the tag help support neighborhood stabilization.
Mr. Wells reported that in Pasco County, Florida Building Permits are up and multiple vacant lot purchases by single owners is increasing. This is a great indicator that new Construction is going to continue to rise into 2012. Mr. Wells also gave an opinion that our reduced Property taxes will begin to rise again in 2012. Who Knew Raising Taxable Value on Property was going to be GOOD NEWS!
All In all, Pasco County Florida has hit Rock Bottom and Stayed there for over a Year...Inventory is DOWN and SALES are UP!!! All we can do now is keep both hands on the wheel and our eyes high and in front of us and an occasional glance into the rear mirror so we remember to not let THAT happen again.
Also....Sink Hole Requirementshave become more stringent. A Home must have a legitimate sinkhole to be eligable for a claim AND the home MUST be repaired. This is putting an end to the "crack in the stucco" sinkhole of years past. Hip-Hip-Hooraaay!!!
