Is being a specialist really that valuable? ABSOLUTELY! Targeting a niche and being the specialist within in it can add so much value to your brand, business, and the community. Here the top 5 rules to capitalize on your niche:

  1. State your claim -- What do you want to achieve? What is important?
  2. Who's your customer or niche -- What' makes them so special or unique? What do you have in common? How are they being neglected?
  3. How are you going to solve your niche customers' problems?
  4. Get the message out – Tell your friends, add your 'niche speciality' to your flyers or brochures
  5. Promote the product in unusual ways- Get viral. Find out where your customer lives and go meet them there. Promote the product in unusual ways and in unusual places. Try new methods and get a little crazy.
  6. Always measure your success- How did you do? What did not work? What would you do different? Test and Measure every aspect of your Marketing? Always try new ideas.

This is great advice.  It's always tempting to go after the whole pie figuring you can get a bite or two of each piece but you forget if you specialize you may get a whole piece to yourself which often works out to be more.
