Active Rain- Collective attitude

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Executive

I have to say ever since joining AR, I am impressed with the overall attitude of the Realtors in this community. The posts talk about current market conditions which are trying. 99.5 % of what I read here is about opportunity and making lemonade out of lemons. Its very inspiring to here story's and ideas which encourage stepping up and make it happen attitude. I have been in real estate for 22 years and seen it all recession and boom. But unlike today with blogging and the AR community, you never knew what everyone else was thinking or doing. This is fantastic, I applaud all of my fellow Realtors who are out there making lemonade and enjoying it.    SEIZE THE OPPORTUNITY!!

Hi John,

The key to being sucessful is positive thinking, it's an awesome time to be in real estate!  If you can be an agent in this market imagine what you can do in a buyer's market.  The key is lead generation, statistically if you do 47 open houses, you can expect 6-7 buyers, even in this market.  Last week an agent listed a home in a desirable neighborhood, my clients decided to take advantage of the listing that was priced below market value, there were 4-offers on the property.   The buyer's are waiting for opportunities and there seems to be plenty of them.  Listing agents who price the homes to sell are going to sell them.  The math is simple and that makes it an awesome time to be a realtor.

You have been in the business 22-years and I am sure have seen it all, what's your thoughts?

Way to go---that's what I truly love about being here, too.  When you find yourself in one of those "pity parties" just log on to AR and the wonderful people here will boost you out of those doldrums! Thanks for the post! Go Rainers!

You just proved the point! 4 offers on 1 property. The same is true here in MA, if its priced right from day 1 it will sell quickly, all this while improperly priced homes sit and sit. The buyers recognize value and when it presents itself they act!

John,

You are correct. Negative brings everything down. Consumer confidence is one of the most important factors in our economy.

Yes. For many this is the best market possible, many will benefit. We will have to make the most of the current market.
