"Change is the Essence of Life.
Be Willing to Surrender What You Are,
for What You Could Become."
If there's been one constant here on ActiveRain, it's been change. Ever since this platform was first created, things have been continually evolving, developing, changing.
I can remember in the early days when Matt Heaton would tweak or change some minor feature, everyone would raise a huge uproar of resistance. But eventually, things had a way of working out for the better.
Some changes are more difficult to accept than others, especially the ones that involve people and our sense of human connectedness.
After all, what has really made this community so incredibly special & valuable over the years isn't necessarily the great SEO capabilities. or the search ranking of our blog articles, or even the highly qualified leads that turn into closed transactions and money in the bank.
It's the wonderfully intimate, rich, and fulfilling relationships we have discovered and nutured in this virtual 'Cheers.' It's friendships we share with members all across the country - deep connections this platform has made possible with people who at times feel closer than actual family.
When I think of all the amazingly gifted and dedicated people who have contributed so much of their heart and soul to the success of this network, starting with the great visionaries/creators, Jon Washburn and Matt Heaton. Then there was Caleb Mardini, Ben 'The Code Monkey' Wiseley, Bob Stewart, Nicole Woods, Brad Andersohn, Jeremy Blanton, Jeff Corbett, Jorgen Hahn, and so many others. Whenever any of these people have left, a part of us has left with them.
However, we need to realize that the true success (and future success) of ActiveRain lies within the strength and resolve of its members. Your continued involvement and the quality content you publish to your blog will be what ensures the next chapter of the ActiveRain story is written, and that it builds upon the solid legacy left behind by those who blazed the trail.
We owe them that much.
