By
Education & Training with Rowlett Real Estate School

A person who no longer wants to engage in the real estate business can voluntarily cancel being licensed.  When a license is canceled, it is void.  Cancellation of a license is effective on the date it is approved by the Commission. Cancellation does not involve disciplinary action,

Is this true in every State? I've never heard of anyone canceling their license here in California.

It is definitely time for some real estate professionals to move on to other career paths.

Have a most productive week.

Wayne, although, I can't imagine anyone wanting to cancel their license, it certainly is an interesting option that licensing law allows for.

Silvia, I cant imagine anyone canceling a real estate license either.  A voluntarily inactive status would be the thing to do.  Canceling a license is an option for someone who no longer wishes to keep up their education requirements or pay the renewal fees.

Hi Wayne, I wouldn't cancel it either, maybe put it on ice after I won the 2 year trip around the world! :-)

I like Mary's idea of putting business on hold for a two year trip around the world.  Now may be the best time for that extended adventure.

Enjoy the Memorial Day weekend and have a great summer!

 Blooming for you!

I canceled my license after several attempts to learn the business at several different brokerages. No one wanted to teach me. The last one i was with was a real jerk. Released my license 4 days before my listed property sold. I was going to make 20k on this sale. He gave it to another agent the night before he released my license. All i have to say is Karma is a .........
