It's OK to Educate Yourself. But Unless You Buy and Sell Real Estate for a Living, It's Best to Work With a Professional. Craig Rutman can help you buy or sell a home in the Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area of North Carolina

So you're ready to buy a new home.

Or maybe you're ready to sell your present home.

Whichever the case, if you don't buy and sell Real Estate for a living, or you stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night, it's probably best to hire a professional.

I'm all about do-it-yourself for small projects, but a home is most likely the biggest investment you'll ever have.

Why take a chance on making a mistake?

If you're in the Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area of North Carolina, give me a call.

Because all the education in the world is helpful. But if you don't do this every day, the chance for error is too great to take.

And making a mistake in Real Estate can be VERY costly.

If you're looking to buy or sell a home in the Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area, call Craig today!

Craig, at least it wasn't real estate for dummies. Like the hat and the taps on the shoes

Let me help you with the next phase of your life!

Craigster ~  It's beyond me why people today would not use a professional Real Estate Event to help them with what could be their most expensive purchase in their life.  Some still try to go it alone and there is a good chance of not getting what you thought you were.  Read Debe's above #11.  Now those Agents stand to possibly lose their license for such behavior or have to gix what ever they were hiding.

Tni - It's beyond my comprehension level Tni.

Laura - You hit the nail on the head with your comment here. Why anyone would go it alone defies me. Nice touch with the hat, huh?!!!

Wanda - Great grandpa and Aunt Mildred presented their first offer with a handshake. It's just a bit different now!

Anna - Thank you Anna! I missed the memo that said we can't have some fun doing what we love!

Dorie - Thank you Dorie! Ditto for you for anyone moving in or out of the Austin, TX region!

Anita - Exactly! Hire a local Realtor. Interview a few if you must. But don't go it alone.

Sandi - I love my fans! Thank you Sandi! I use mostly Photoshop, with an occasional touch of Illustrator thrown in to make my little "creations". You can see more of them by clicking on the Picasa "beaker" at the bottom of my blog posts. The Fun With Photshop album is, well, just me having fun. The Real Estate Fun album is me having fun with some marketing.

Michael - Having lived below the Smith and Wesson line all your life, I'll bet you know a lot of people who resemble the character in that picture!

Brenda - My analogy is that you can learn all you want about riding a bicycle. But until you've actually tride riding one...

Michelle - Sadly, the scenario in the first part of your comment happens all the time. And the 2nd part of your comment is the reason you can't buy a home on the internet!

Debe - While some part timers can be very good, this is a full time job and requires a great deal of attention to the details. That experience can't be learned while working another job. The horror story you mentioned is just that... A Horror Story. Someone's losing a license and getting sued over that one. I don't mind dual agency as long as everything is disclosed up front. I do have some issues with the new Due Diligence changes that were implemented for this year. I'd love to discuss my thoughts with you and listen to what you think.

Gay - You wouldn't perform surgery on your self. And not that Real Estate is as important as surgery. But please people, have representation when buying or selling a home.

I am such a fan of your photos.  I have to agree with Roger...the "R" and "L" is the kind of detail that just floors me!  Love it!

Roger - I thought it was a nice little touch putting the R & L in there if I do say so myself!!!

Frank & Karen - I always tell callers that even if they don't choose me, that they should still have someone represent them. It's just too important a decision not to.

Tagrid - For all aspects of the transaction. Hire a Realtor. Hire a licensed home inspector. Hire a reputable lender. Hire a closing attorney. Each one fulfills a role in the home buying and selling process and each one is essential to a successful transaction.

Ed - I think we've both been in this business long enough to know that there are those who will always just read Real Estate for Dummies and think that's all the education they need to go it alone.

June - Why anyone would go it alone still baffles me. If NAR would spend less time telling folks "It's a great time to buy" and spent more time letting people know about the importance of representation, I think blogs like this one and the horror stories we keep hearing, would be a thing of the past.

Mark - I'll be there! And I'll be happy to give you all the Photoshop lessons you want. In truth though, I'm really just a hack. If you want to see some really great stuff, check out this site:

Sharon - It's comments like yours that give me the impetus to keep creating these little sillies! Sometimes I even laugh at them! I just knew I was going to put that R & L on the shoes and I even looked for a font that was suitable for that little touch!

Absolutely right, Craig.  There is a lot that goes into buying or selling a home, things that will jump up and bite you if you don't know what you are doing.  Best to leave it to a professional, and in Raleigh, Cary and Apex that would be Craig Rutman.

Greg-Great advice!  LOL with another wonderful advertisement.  I always knew you had learned your skills at a very young age.  I have to agree with Roger and Sharon about the "R" and "L" - too funny!

Jane - You said it perfectly Jane. Real Estate is NOT for amateurs and mistakes are very costly.

Mike - Thank you! The message is important. The method of delivery is humorous. But no one ever said learning can't be fun!

Marian - I can't say it enough. If we all said it collectively, maybe the message will be heard.

Steve - What if the hokey-pokey REALLY is what it's all about?!!!

Craig--OMG I have not seen or thought about those little metal shoe taps since I was a little girl.  I think they were supposed to help extend the life of the shoes?  Wow!  Great message to the general public and I hope lots and lots of people read your post and take your advice!

HAVE REPRESENTATION!

Craig, absolutely...an educated buyer is a prepared buyer, but there are so many issues that can come up when buying or selling a home...you need someone who knows how to navigate the real estate maze and provide representation.  Hopefully the consumer will find an agent with a sense of fashion.

Hi Craig. Its absolutely true but lately I have run into so many people that think finding listings on the internet is all they have to do and expect the listing agent to do it all

Tim - I see this more and more these days. While it's nice to get both sides of the transaction, I prefer buyers to have their own representation. It makes for a smoother deal.
