The reality of real estate

We sometimes can get lost in the shuffle of what exactly the public and media thinks about our industry. It is a mistake we all have made at one time or another I’m sure. It is easy to have to worry about defending yourself and what you do when the whole world at times seems like they think you’re the villain. Well I’ve come to relies that it is even easier to not deal and or work with those who do not find you and the services and knowledge you provide a value. Now before everyone goes firing all their clients and business relationships stop and think to yourself is their truth in what their saying? Yes the media and general public can be wrong about their thoughts regarding our industry but they can also be right. So analyze your business and what it is exactly you provide to your clients and business relationships and ask yourself can you do more? Should you do more?

I personally believe that I and my staff provide a true value proposition to our clients and business partners because of the following.

1.        Education we are constantly educating ourselves not just to meet the minimum state and federal requirements but to improve our business and what it is we can provide to our clients and others.

2.       Diversity, we make sure that we can advise our clients not only regarding real estate but mortgages, insurance, and wealth building and retention. It is to easy not to want to get additional licenses in other areas that do relate to real estate because of cost and or the additional insurance we would need to purchase. However these additional licenses and education that come with them can make us that much more valuable to our clients and business partners.

3.       Straight talk, we do not sugar coat anything we give real non fluff advice regardless how it will effect getting and or not getting the deal.

4.       Understanding, we know and understand that real estate weather you’re dealing with a first time buyer or a well seasoned investor it is vital to be able to understand and see the transaction through the client’s eyes. It’s not our deal, it’s the clients our job is to inform and keep them and their money protected throughout the transaction.

5.       Consistency, we strive to be consistent with all of our clients and the service we provide. Weather they are a buyer buying a 30k home or a savvy investor listing a multimillion dollar property with us. All of our clients get our full devotion and support regardless the size of the commission check or even if there is a commission at all.

So remember work hard, smart, and always keep your clients interest first. Always improve and never settle because your hard work is what got you to where you’re at and your harder work is what is going to get you to where you want to be. It is never good to measure your success against others performance success is what you feel it is in your heart.

Excellent post.  Doing the right thing for our clients even if we don't make money will help you survive and thrive, even in a very challenging market.  Also, love the straight talk....

All the best, Michelle

Thanks Michelle for the kind words and as for straight talk, well I believe that the only way people will give you what you want or need is if your clear and to the point when asking for it.
