5. Cape Lookput National Seashore - This is one of my favorite boat trips of the summer and if you don't have a boat there are passenger ferry services to get you here. A tip do not forget to pack your sunscreen, because there is not a lot of shade.

If you love nature this is the best, you can hike across the island over to the Ocean or over by the lighthouse there is a boardwalk you can take over.

Make sure to plan ahead and also pack a cooler. There are no stores or anywhere to find food or drink. This is what is was like hundreds of years ago, the simple but beautiful life.

Cape Lookout is the place to go, I wrote earlier about the sailing charters and as you can see they can get you there also.

Paradise!!!!!!!!!

Hi Mark!  That is absolutely gorgeous!  I once lived in Gulfport, MS and we used to cruise or sail out to 'Ship Island' where there was nothing but, a cool wrecked ship and beautiful sandy white beaches and sunshine--lots of it!  Your area is just beautiful.  We used to stop there taking the boys to Camp Seagull in Arapahoe.  Of course, we had to visit Sanitary Seafood (horrible name!) as that's what we most remembered from our childhoods vacationing on the NC coast!  Crazy but, true!

Craig we definitely need to do a boat trip.

Debe, Sanitary is a landmark it may have to make the top 365. They have remodeled here lately and put seating outside on the dock and built a new bar. And yes they now serve alchohol. You probably no the Sea Gull Outpost is right across the street.

Thanks for the comments guys and Craig keep up that photoshop. It cracks me up!!!

Hi, Mark. That is a beautiful spot and being away from the hustle and bustle is a blessing in our hectic lives. Lookout is a very appropriate name for it.
