I remember what Bill Gates once said...He would dispose of most his wealth and not pass on the burden of it all to his children before he dies..having a billion dollars is a lot of work and who has it and what they would do with it is an interesting subject. It is no good to anyone if it is not spent...
THE PLAN
I will share what I would do with it...and for those of you who find fault with some of my ideas, they would be perfected once I actually had the money. So relax and let me share here....
1. Anyone who cannot afford to go to college will qualify for college assistance. They must abide by the rules and gets B's or better to qualify for free transportation and school supplies. Anyone getting straight A's goes into a graduation pool to win a car upon graduating. I give 500 smart cars away per year...
2. I open a chain of fast food operations where you get your monies worth for a good quality product that is priced at a below bargain price. In addition, anyone who has no money is never turned away for a meal. The meal and the conditions of getting it...sweeping the parking lot, cleaning windows or ? to be decided
3. I would re-introduce penny, nickel, and dime candy plus little toys that only kids can come in and get, spend money for and buy. The stores would work closely with parents to help teach kids to behave, do chores, and receive the rewards. Good Behavior counts...
4. Anyone wanting to be a block warden which is like the neighborhood watch program gets free phone, car, signage, materials, and whatever else necessary to bring neighborhood safety back into the priority thinking modes. Details to follow...
5. Anyone who helps another unconditionally by doing a good deed..gets points and recognition. Free passes to amusements parks, sports events and local travel plus other rewards....people nominate people for this
6. Every small local struggling church in disadvantaged areas that are providing a service to their immediate neighborhoods would have an emergency fund designed to help the poor and needy. The local Pastors would be the steward of the funds. Local Pastors get their churches refurbished with class rooms
7. Free cup of coffee, deodorant, tooth paste/brush, plus back pack for any homeless plus access to second hand clothing in exchange for small local work performed.
8. Subsidized food allowances for the elderly on social security as the only source of income...
9. Entertain and solicit ideas from small Cities across the state....
10. Help small businesses start-up
11. I would hire a full time staff to supervise, direct, over see and dispense the above plans accordingly
Now, all I need is the $billion to get things going. I would work out the details at that time..
What would you do?
