Submission to Authority shows Trustworthiness!

Phillipians 2:5-11

5-8Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn't think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn't claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death—and the worst kind of death at that—a crucifixion.

9-11Because of that obedience, God lifted him high and honored him far beyond anyone or anything, ever, so that all created beings in heaven and on earth—even those long ago dead and buried—will bow in worship before this Jesus Christ, and call out in praise that he is the Master of all, to the glorious honor of God the Father.

While Jesus was certainly fully God, He also humbled Himself to become fully human. It is how Christ himself teaches us how we are to live. He gave God full authority over His life and lived in full subjection to His Father, and therefore in full obedience, even to the point of death on the cross. Because He chose to submit to God, then God gave Him authority and a Name above every other name.

We to should completely submit our lives to Christ in full obedience and subjection. As Christians we have been given the Holy Spirit that He should reside in us, as we abide in Him.

As we live under His authority and by His word, we are given a higher source of power to overcome sin in our lives.

If you want to have more authority in your life, job, and career, you must be willing to submit to your boss and all of those in authority over you! In this way you show you are trustworthy.

Romans 8:18-20 (The Message) 18-21That's why I don't think there's any comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times. The created world itself can hardly wait for what's coming next. Everything in creation is being more or less held back. God reins it in until both creation and all the creatures are ready and can be released at the same moment into the glorious times ahead. Meanwhile, the joyful anticipation deepens.

Jesus sure set the bar high for the rest of us. Not sure I could die for those whom I don't even know.

Yes, yes, yes!! That's why Jesus was so taken by the centurion. He knew how important it was to be under authority... more than anyone else Jesus had seen.
