Summer comes early in the South. This year it has come even earlier!

Summer Flowers in Newnan GAThey don’t call it the “Sunny South” for nothing! And while we typically expect late May and early June to be the first weeks of Summer, this year the hot temperatures that we normally experience in July and August have shown up sooner than expected.

As the Bermuda High sets in over the Atlantic, we are experiencing a mid-summer heat wave with temperatures reaching the 90’s. The same phenomenon is also responsible for keeping the rain in the Midwest.

And though we will be blessed with home-grown tomatoes a little earlier this year, it looks like it’s going to be one hot summer here in Newnan Georgia.

Because if it’s this hot now, it’s going to be miserable in July!

Richard - cool and wet. Our tomatoes have just gone in and we worry about them each night. I suppose we will enjoy our bounty at separate times. But enjoy it, we will.

Can't wait for those home grown tomatoes...and temps in the 90's!  If you don't mind, keep the humidity there with you!

It is going to be a long hot summer. I wish I could only show homes in the summer from about 6 a.m. to 10 or so...but then buyers and sellers probably won't go for that!

Richard, One man's treasure is another mans trash, the Bermuda high you so lovingly describe...has kept it raining in the Northeast for the past 3 weeks. This too shall pass (I HOPE).

Ginny...

I love riding in the convertible when it's less than 40 degrees outside, so I am NOT crazy about the heat. THX.

James...

We could use a little  of that rain right now. Thanks.

Larry...

Our tomato plants always die of old age before the frost gets them. We have a LONG growing season. Thanks so much.

Laura...

I would LOVE the HOT weather if I lived by the shore! Thanks my friend.

Hi Richard (pardon my earlier mistake with your name!)

We're having a rainy and rather cool Spring!  But the past weekend was beautiful...sunny and in the 70s.

**BTW--today is the definition of Spring here--70s, sunny and no humidity!

Happy Spring!
