Moving to San Francisco?

People move to San Francisco for a variety of reasons:  job relocation, boomers looking to retire to an Urban lifestyle, singles looking to enjoy City life or people just wanting a temperate climate!

Many of you know I've lived in multiple locations throughout the United States.  Here are my top five things that I've only experienced here in San Francisco.....

San Francisco1.  San Francisco has a very Big City feel for such a small town (only 49 sq miles!)

2.  It is the most politically involved place I've ever lived.  Nothing, and I mean nothing, gets done without a great deal of vetting by different interest groups, political advocates or San Francisco City agencies.

3.  You will learn to be patient when relying on public transportation... while San Francisco Municipal Transit System has improved pretty dramatically over the years, the powers that be have still not learned how to teach customer service to its employees.  Having said that, you really don't need a car to live here.

4.  90% of the time, the weather here in San Francisco is PERFECT! Neither too hot nor too cold.

5.  I found it to be one of the easiest cities in the Country to start a new business - people here really support the locals!

Peggy - I love SF. The last time I was there I believe the Giants were number 1, as they are right now. I love the architecture and the older style homes, the wharf, museums, eateries, bars and people. I almost could not stop. I have a lot of memory's.
Oh wait,
I started a 4 1/2 day bike ride from SF to LA down Hwy 1.That is a memory.

Peggy - No I actually planned it with 7 of my past buddies. One by one they backed out. I rode alone. My wife had a voicemail set-up, back then about 20 years ago, where we could call ahead to the voice mail and leave a message where one of us landed. About 125 per day. The first motel was where we met and everyday after that the same routine.

It was a blast and only one flat tire.
