Patience is definitely a virtue when representing a client who is short selling a house. The homeowner is dealing with the loss and grief of what they feel is a death. Shock, sadness, anger, and then feeling numb. All of those feelings coming out at different times and they come to you, their trusted Realtor for help. You become their life support. It is not just a business transaction. You have entered into their life as a confidant, cheerleader, and shoulder to cry on if need be. You help push them along the way assuring them that they have done everything they can in trying to save the home and hope that the bank will be as nice as you have been to them.
Short Sales are not easy. We take the gamble, you win some you lose some, but you have tried your hardest to help your clients through one of the most difficult times of their lives. They will not want to remember what they went through, but they will remember the one that stood by them till the bitter or bitttersweet end. Yes, patience is a virtue.
There can be light at the end of the journey, or entryway.
