Katerina really spells out here some great pointers about getting your Activerain Account going. How to blog, how to just get started and not worry too much about the result. Its a very powerful engine and will yield you results, PROMISE! :) Have fun folks! ;)
What is holding you back from writing your first blog post? You joined Active Rain and you set up your profile page.
You used the ActiveRain Tutorial to learn how to optimize your first and last name fields on your ActiveRain profile page. You uploaded your photo. Now what?Maybe you put a post in draft but are scared to press that publish button. After all, what will people think? This is the first post, you may be thinking, what if someone puts me down or tells me I am wrong about my idea or opinion or the facts?Or maybe you don't even know what you should write as your first post. Tell us about you. We would like to get to know you. Tell us who you are, what you do, where you work and about your family. This is a good way to break the ice.Make sure you write in your first post that - "This is my FIRST post on ActiveRain". That really will work most of the time. There are many rainers who seek out the first post writers to give you a thumbs up or a great job pat on the back type of comment. The first post does not need to be perfect. We all start somewhere. The very first post I wrote on ActiveRain was a post that had no bolded sentences, no links, no photos and no video. WHY? Because I had no clue how to add any of that to a blog in 2007! In fact, I came from Blogger.com and Squidoo which I still only knew the basics of.I am still here. No one told me I was not welcomed and no one laughed at me that I know of. Then again, who cares anyhow? Some of you have your first post in draft. But you want it to be perfect. So you keep editing it and well, now it has been weeks and you still have not pressed that submit button. Just do it.The one pointer I will give you is to begin your blogging journey with a pay it forward mindset and a gratitude attitude because givers gain.
