Realtors Persevere! Part 1

On page 134 of Success As A Real Estate Agent For Dummies, it says, “92% of sales people bail out after four attempts to get the sale. That means that only 8% of all sales people continue after the fourth rejection.” In real estate, you never know when a conversation is going to turn into a prospect which is going to turn into a real estate transaction that leads to a closed deal. Only 2 to 5 % of the American population is ready to move at any one time. Some people want to move immediately, some are lookers who will move some time in the next 3 to 6 months, but are willing to look and consider carefully. The window is narrow to catch your prey.

Believe! Act!

If you don’t believe in yourself or this business right now, you need a mindset change. Life is a can do thing, and this is a can do business. You have a mouth, a phone, a computer, a real estate license, and a car with some gas in it. You are all set! Now start thinking and talking like you are a success! You can do this job! You can talk to people! Building relationships is fun, and you get to do something you enjoy---shopping, talking, driving, paperwork, or whatever part of this real estate business that you enjoy. Believe! Act! Don’t dwell on what you perceive as problems! Use your knowledge and abilities to overcome the hurdles, gain experience and wisdom and then go forward. You can finish the easy and the difficult transactions and gain the sale! If you need more go juice than that, find a book that has positive affirmations about self and sales. Some authors I can recommend are Anthony Robbins, Norman Vincent Peale, Dale Carnegie, Zig Ziglar, Jeffrey Gitomer, Steve Morris, Napoleon Hill and the Psalmists of the Bible. Don’t just read these things once, read them regularly until the positive things they say are a part of your inner thinking. Read them until you have a I CAN attitude, instead of I don’t have attitude.

Using positive affirmations (and for some of us constant prayer), you can succeed in real estate. Most of our perceptions are formed and lived in the mind. Win the battle in your mind and success will follow. Remember, if you can persevere past the fourth rejection, you only have 8% competition for those real estate leads. GO!!!
