Watching The Weather

Late this afternoon could be a wild Wednesday for us here around Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.  My husband called me from work as I got home this afternoon, and told me there's an inclement weather warning within 25 miles of Scott AFB until 7:00 PM tonight.  He told me to go down the basement when I hear the sirens.

He normally doesn't call me about the weather, but we've had bad weather here and at least two tornadoes touch down 40 minutes from us this spring.  We live about six hours from Joplin, Missouri and just seeing the devastation there on TV really makes us take notice.

I'll take my laptop down to the basement as soon as I hear the sirens.  I just took this picture a few minutes ago; the wind is picking up.

Dark Clouds Over O'Fallon

However, I can hear the birds singing... so hopefully it's just heavy rains.  I wish I could send the rains to my friends over in Texas.

Howdy and evening to you Yolanda

Yolanda, there sure has been and a lot of bad weather throughout that entire part of the Country, that's for sure! I've been keeping a mighty close eye of the area, seeing that most all of my family are throughout the areas of Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. Plus a whole lot of mighty good friends throughout the areas there. Friends that are members of AR and not members. You and your husband stay safe!!!

Have a good one

Yolanda: It is nice that you have a basement. Ceil said she heard on the evening news that there is severe weather throughout that entire area. You be sure to get down to the basement if you feel or see anything bad weather headed your way. Stay safe.

Hi, Dale and C&C.  It's been so crazy this year and our winter last was also abnormal.  The Wing Commander sent people home, so my husband came home before the storm hit.  The sirens went off four times, thunder and lightning, wind, sheets of rain pelting the windows for an hour.  Having a basement helps, if not just psychologically.  It's now 8:30 PM and it couldn't be any calmer.  Thank you for your concern.  :)

You could send some of those clouds and rain down to AZ as well.  This has to be the driest year we've had in decades.  I'm glad to hear it's going well so far.  Hope it continues that way.

Hi, Greg.  Thank you.  It's so extreme, your state and Texas are too dry, and we're too wet over here. I'd be hoping it goes your way!

Yolanda - you stay safe. The basement sounds good, especially with a laptop, and maybe some wine.

LOL Mike.  Sounds good!  I don't drink, but was told that I act like a drunk.  :)

Hi, Michelle.  It was rough for an hour, but we made it.  Around 8:30 PM it was very calm like nothing happened.  Thank you for stopping by.  :)
