What does your Front Yard say about you? by New York Feng Shui Consultant

Front Yard on Long Island New York

The importance of maintaining your front yard is for binging in good Chi, according to Feng Shui.  It is also important because it is an extension of you and your personality.  Take a look at the design of your yard.  The type of plants, layout, how it is organized, colors, textures.  Do you have grass or is it sold grounding?  Does it feel welcoming, or does it have such a presence it may even seem intimidating?

The picture above is of a house on Long Island by the south shore.  Walking passed, Laura Cerrano Feng Shui NY consultant could not disregard the sold structure and appearance of the home.  More then likely, if you were to enter inside, things would be very organized.  The family lifestyle may even be more on the conservative side and successful with what the goals they set to accomplish.  It almost give off an energy of dominance.

Looking to the Feng Shui principles there are very nice qualities to the lay out.

  • Water fountain in the front yard
  • Lions that symbolize power and protection, as with Fue Dogs from China
  • Beautifully kept bushes, shrubs and small trees
  • curved driveway entrance and is raised up from the street level, power move
  • curved flower bed

Here is another home on the same block only 6 houses away.  Completely different feel. A much softer appeal, lush, and gracing of guest into the home.   This family can be organized as well and more relaxed with the lifestyle.  It would be interesting to meet them and get a true feel for who they are :)

It's important with how you present your home, for that is how you are present yourself and your energy to the world.

Feng Shui Tip of the day:

It is best not to block the front entrance of your doorway, for you literally and energetically block energy from entering into your space.  Being practical, if you must, a Red Car will have to do ;)

Drive up appeal is so important Laura and I like how you talk about it in terms of energy.

Really interesting take on front yards!  I'm definitely more drawn to the second house, just seems more grounded and welcoming :)
