I got a kick in the pants -- 31 TIMES. And it felt good.
I've been a member of Active Rain since August of 2008. But I was very inactive, writing one or two blogs every other month. I realized I needed a kick start.
So when the I heard about the 31 Days of January blogging contest, I JUMPED in. I knew that was the push I needed to write consistently. I HAD to write at least one blog a day for thirty one days.
If I did that, I would be rewarded with EXTRA points above and beyond the logging in, blogging and commenting points. What a deal I couldn't pass it up.
SUCCESS. I wrote thirty-two blogs that month and it felt good.
Then came February -- eleven blogs.
March -- twelve blogs.
April --thirteen blogs.
I was slacking off again. I need another push. Another contest.
So....I wrote a blog titled Do I need another contest to kick me in the blogging pants?
Then it happened. Another contest came along 31 days of May Challenge 2011.
YIPPEE!!! I got my kick in the pants. Back in the saddle.
I've since written at least one blog a day and sometimes more.
I've written about my personal milestone of reaching 100,000 points. I wouldn't be there if I wasn't KICKED.
I've written about other members milestones of 100,000, 300,000, 500,000 & 1,000,000 points.
I've written about gas prices.
I've written about cabinet hardware.
I've written about a free country music festival.
I've written about a lazy dog.
I've written about mud volleyball.
I've written about poor communication.
I've written about park closings.
I've written about short sale or foreclosure.
I've written about having your camera with you.
I've written a blog a day for thirty-one days.
I've written about anything and everything.
I'm all over the place. But I was writing something.
It felt good to write. I'll keep it going. Maybe not one a day, every day, but I WILL keep it going.
